Healthcare Center

Imagine being pregnant and needing urgent care but having to endure a steep ride on the back of a motorcycle or a 4-hour walk to the nearest clinic, only to be turned away due to prejudice or lack of funds.

What Is:

After 3 years of collaboration, the Olangama community identified a Community HUB with Medical Center  as a top priority. We are now breaking ground on phase 1 of a multi-functional community hub which will include a community gathering space, a medical center and a primary school.  The Medical Center, a critical component of Phase 1 activities will provide essential medicine for malaria, waterborne diseases, and infections. The maternity ward will offer care to vulnerable mothers and newborns, addressing simple medical issues before they become life-threatening.

What Is Coming:

By phase 4, the project will progress to include a full hospital, maternity wing, and on-staff doctors. This will significantly reduce infant mortality, improve overall health, and prevent avoidable deaths, transforming the quality of life in this community.
